Recently I was asked for my comments about Assessments in Charlottesville. These question came from Scott Weaver who writes for a local paper, "The Cville Weekly".
Well we had a nice discussion on the phone and I was as open an honest as I could be about our current assessments. 
I somewhat jokingly said:
"if somebody were to offer me the assessed value for my personal residence today, I'd have a contract in their hand in 15 minutes"
You see our assessments in January do not reflect the recent trend of home prices. It seems that prices are stable buy we pulled back far more than the 3% my assessment showed.
Well our local paper quoted me verbatim, which is fine.
