Super Bowl Thoughts – Underdog vs. Tested & True Previous Winners

Watching the Super Bowl yesterday was a little like redoing the 2008 election campaign. An underdog against a longtime tried and tested team. This go around, however, experience won out and the Pittsburgh Steelers came out on top for the sixth time.

It truly was anyone’s game. It was not the blowout everyone expected, and the Arizona Cardinals very well could have walked away with the win. Better luck next time!

On stage during the half-time show, The Boss reveled in the antics of a much younger man. At one point we were sure he must have hurt himself and/or the hapless cameraman who got in the way of a trademark slide down the stage. By the grin on the singer’s face, though he seemed to take it in stride, but we never did see what happened to that cameraman. Hope he/she is okay!

If…. trailer Even if you are not a fan of football, there was much to like about the chances of the two teams. The commercials, on the other hand, clearly were hurting because of the economy. Not a truly flashy one among them – and the 3-D event? Nothing to write home about.

Despite this, stats reveal over 100 million Americans tuned in. Guess the thought of rooting for the underdog was worth it after all…
