I have written about this before but I am seeing several new bloggers on the net and this is an important issue:
Agents: Are you blogging/posting about a current deal / transaction you are involved in?
I would never consider posting on my blog about a deal I am actively negotiating.
WHY?
1. I have a lot of people (many local agents) reading my blog. Could the agent on the other side of the transaction see my posts? sure they could…
2. Is this in the best interest of my clients? I personally do not think so. What would my Buyer or Seller say if they saw a post about a current deal?
3. Confidentiality….. need I say more?
I am currently in the middle of a couple transactions and I would never post about the situation or details. Or ask something like….
What would you do in this situation?
I am not trying to point fingers here. I just think you should realize that others are watching what you are doing and saying on your blog.
Now after the deal is done… that is the time to reach out to others for opinions and advise
…
This is just my opinion!
