Recently our family spent some time cleaning up our play room. It is a combination of computers, a big screen, treadmill, weights, books, stuffed animals, etc… When we first started to use this room we had a grand idea that it was going to be a “combo” Movie and Computer room. That did not last long. It soon became a tangled web of everything else in our lives.
This brings me to my point. Have you ever noticed what a tangled mess the World Wide Web is?
There is so much data and more is added every minute. How Google and Bing sort this data is amazing to me. It remind me of a spider web, at first glance it is a tangled mess but when you look closer it is a beautiful thing.

Happy 4th of July to my family, friends, clients and colleagues.

It seems that the years go by faster every year and this year is no exception. When we have a holiday it is a great time to reflect on the past and for me the 4th of July makes me think of a couple of specific times. One in particular is the 4th of July in 1976 (our nations 200th anniversary). As a young boy I can remember laying on the cool grass in a park in Campbell California and watching fireworks with my friends.

I also remember, on this day, that we as a nation have lost many lives to give us our freedoms and this is something we must always remember.

This is typical for me on any weekend but there is a twist. On Memorial Day I will not be with clients but will be with my family.

As a real estate agent and broker my clients are very important to me, however my wife and children are the most important part of my life. I have had to postpone/reschedule/cancel two requests now for Monday, but I feel it is worth it.

Charlottesville Ice Park goes on the market for $4.1 million

This weekend, Charlottesville Ice Park owners Bruce and Roberta Williamson sent a letter to staff members, longtime skaters and local media announcing the sale of the local skating rink, which they bought for $3.1 million in 2003. After two years of improvements—from a new Zamboni and sound system to a rooftop humidifier—the Williamsons extended their lease of the rink's building, at 218 West Main Street, through November 30, 2010. The Williamsons have the option to extend their lease through 2015, but write that they agreed to "allow cumulative losses up to $1 million."

A little personal history about Google. I was born in the Silicon Valley and had an engineering business for over 20 years. One of my clients was located in an area that had a lot of companies (start-ups) near it. I remember seeing the first sign that said “Google” and I most likely just rolled my eyes and thought it was just another dot.com

Well I should have know better as Google has grown… Fast forward and here I am selling Charlottesville Real Estate and Google is the main marketing source on the internet.

They say that Real Estate is local and with the current environment that is certainly true.

I just read a blog from Spokane Washington Real Estate Expert, BethAnn Long about their local market. Click Here

My response to her was “Stay positive and stay focused you are above the crowd just by being actively working on your business!”

Then it crossed my mind, something that I had seen recently, a statue here in Charlottesville Virginia  at UVA…

Was it because BethAnn was from Washington State? I am not sure….It was this statue of George Washington!

What I thought about was the environment that our founding fathers lived in and the loss of life to give us the Liberty and Freedoms we all enjoy today.

There is no doubt that Our Times are troubling, but it is so small in comparison…

Thank God for the strength of those who came before us. I only pray we can be as strong for our future generations….

I have been using iGoogle for about 10 months now and I really like using it! It is easy to set up and give me a great homepage with a nice clock, date, calendar, email access and all kinds of stuff (google calls it gadgets).

 My wife likes the gadget “Things to Ponder” but I like the “Fitness Tip of the Day” and the “Quotes of the Day”

You may notice a couple of things. First of all GOOGLE SEARCH is still right at the top.

Also I have the weather and even the moon phases (by the way there is a lunar eclipse tonight)

Also you can add tabs for other people or just for other categories like a Home Search Page or even a hobby.

The best thing is I never use (or rarely) Bookmarks/Favorites anymore. The sites that I frequent have links right on my desktop!
